Mother in Scotland convicted for killing three-month-old daughter with hairdryer

A three-year-old girl died on July 27 after her head became trapped in a toy kitchen located in Boynton Beach, Florida, United States.

The incident began on July 23 when the victim and her brother were at the nanny's residence. The Boynton Beach Police Department was notified shortly after 11 am (local time) due to an alert about a three-year-old child found unconscious and not breathing.

After officers initiated resuscitation procedures, the Boynton Beach Firefighters transported the girl to a local hospital. She remained in critical condition until July 27, according to authorities on Monday.

The incident occurred while the child and her brother were under the care of the nanny, who had left them with her spouse. This man was on the upper floor, monitoring the children playing on the ground floor, and periodically providing them with snacks.

At that moment, the individual found the three-year-old girl with her head stuck in a toy kitchen set and promptly began resuscitation maneuvers until emergency teams arrived.

The girl's brother reported that his sister's toys had fallen inside the toy kitchen and she got stuck trying to retrieve them.

Authorities did not disclose the exact period the victim was trapped, nor her name, as well as the causes and circumstances of death. According to a police spokesperson, the wooden toy kitchen was acquired some years ago through Facebook Marketplace, and its brand or model is unknown.

As of now, no one has been criminally charged, and the investigation is ongoing.
