Imran Hashmi has been active in Bollywood for a long time, but his films have not achieved the commercial success expected from his name. However, his phase has now changed. He has shown the potential for a commercial success with the sequel to his flop film Awaarapan, which was released 19 years ago.
The film Awaarapan 2 is performing well in theaters, and almost every show is half-filled with audiences. Snippets related to the film are going viral on social media, and fans of Imran Hashmi's character Shivam Pandit are getting attracted again. The songs of the film are also being liked a lot as they evoke a sense of nostalgia among the audience.
Imran's original film Awaarapan is known for its successful music album. The magic that Pakistani singer Mustafa Zahid cast with his voice is still felt today. Songs like 'Tera Mera Rishta' and 'Toh Phir Aao' are those that brought the film Awaarapan to life. However, he could not be included in the sequel because there are restrictions on Pakistani artists in India.
Mustafa is also not satisfied with this situation. During his recent concert in Chicago, USA, he expressed his disappointment at not being a part of Awaarapan 2. Before the song 'Toh Phir Aao', he mentioned that it was the first song he had written, composed, and sung in his life.
'It is sad that art also suffers due to politics all over the world. So unfortunately, I am not a part of this album (Awaarapan 2). But the love and respect I have always received from Indians is truly wonderful. Thank you all very much,' he said.
The film Awaarapan 2 features actors such as Disha Patani, Suvinder Vicky, Puran Gabbi, and Shabana Azmi. It is produced by Special Films, while Nitin Kakkar directed it.
