In the sacred city of Ayodhya, dedicated to Lord Shri Rama, a massive flow of pilgrims is observed during the month of Savan. Pilgrims worship Shri Ramalla, conduct rituals in the main temples, and perform Jalabhishek ceremonies in Shiva shrines.
As of now, over 3.5 million pilgrims have visited Ayodhya during the month of Savan. Among the visitors, there is great enthusiasm about the opportunity to see Shri Ramalla. According to the administration, the number of pilgrims who visited Shri Ramalla this year exceeds last year's figures by 10 percent.
The flow of pilgrims continues on Saturdays and Sundays, when more than one hundred thousand people arrive. On the first Monday of Savan, about 300 thousand pilgrims gathered in Ayodhya, and on the second Monday, this number increased to approximately 600 thousand.
Due to the sudden increase in the number of people, the district administration and police faced a serious challenge in crowd management and maintaining traffic flow. To ensure the safety of the pilgrims and unimpeded movement, the administration took extensive measures. Constant monitoring is conducted in the main temples, on the embankments, and in crowded areas. Route diversions and barrier installations are organized as necessary.
A large number of police officers and officials have been deployed to maintain order in crowded areas.
The district administration has taken care of the comfort of the pilgrims by ensuring access to drinking water, medical assistance, sanitation, toilets, and lighting. The security system has also been strengthened on the embankments and in key religious sites. Senior officials personally inspect the fairground area and carry out round-the-clock security monitoring in these areas.
Despite the continuous growth in the number of pilgrims during the month of Savan, the Ayodhya administration faces a major task in maintaining order. However, thanks to the measures taken in security, transport, and amenities, the stream of faith and devotion continues to flow into Ramnagari. Ayodhya is currently a center where the faith of pilgrims and devotion to Lord Shri Rama merge.
