Hundreds of students protested in Lucknow over school conditions; minister arrived on site after reports of road blockades

At the state girls' boarding school in Satarih, Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, the health of about fifteen students deteriorated on Thursday during morning prayers amid intense heat. Due to the strong sunlight, high humidity, and heat, many students began to feel dizzy and soon started fainting.

This incident caused panic among the school administration and teachers. As the students' condition began to worsen, the school administration immediately notified the health department. Subsequently, all affected students were urgently transported to the Satarih public medical center, where doctors examined and began treatment.

Currently, all students are receiving treatment at the PMC, and it is reported that their condition is improving after treatment. Among the teachers and staff present at the school during the incident, there was an atmosphere of concern due to the simultaneous deterioration of several students' health, which led to chaos in the educational institution. However, the timely transport of the students to the medical center allowed doctors to begin providing them with assistance.

The primary cause of the students' malaise is believed to be the intense heat, sunlight, and high humidity. It was noted that during the prayer, the students were outdoors in hot weather. It was then that some of them began to feel dizzy, and their condition worsened, resulting in 18 students fainting.

After receiving information about the incident, officials from the Department of Education, as well as SDM Gunjit Agarwal, arrived at the scene. The officials inspected the school to assess the situation and requested information about the students' health. A team from the school administration and the health department continued to monitor the condition of the affected students.

SDM Gunjit Agarwal stated that the students' health deterioration was due to the heat. She reported that the affected students have been hospitalized at the public medical center, and their condition is stable. The administration is monitoring the students' treatment and health. Furthermore, the SDM appealed to parents to feed their children and ensure they have sufficient water before sending them to school. She emphasized that it is crucial to prevent dehydration during the hot season.

Doctors also advised consuming enough water during heat and humidity, avoiding direct sunlight, and seeking immediate medical attention if feeling unwell.

This incident in Barabanki highlighted the need to increase vigilance regarding child safety in schools during extreme heat. Special attention should be paid to monitoring students' health, especially during prolonged standing in open areas or during prayer. Currently, all students receiving treatment at the Satarih PMC are undergoing care, and their condition is reported to be improving.

Major unrest occurred in Jharkhand on Monday during student demonstrations. A group of students stormed the gates of the legislative assembly in Ranchi.

Despite the police using batons and tear gas, thousands of students managed to break through the barricades and reach the legislative assembly gates. Previously, the police had also used water cannons and tear gas.

The condition of Rahul, who is on a hunger strike in Rachi, suddenly deteriorated amid the ongoing student demonstration, which has been going on for two weeks. Rahul is one of the participants in the protest who are continuously observing the fast. After his health worsened, medics took him to the hospital.

Students are holding this protest against alleged violations and leaks of examination materials in the JPSC and JSSC exams. The protesters argue that the issue goes beyond the condition of one person and is a result of long-standing dissatisfaction. They emphasized that their demands must be heard. According to the students, they have already approached Rahul Gandhi, and he supported their demands, but now they are waiting for an opportunity to meet him.

Rahul continues his hunger strike. Students state that he has been fasting and drinking water for four days, which led to the deterioration of his health because his body was in the heat. Rahul had taken several exams and successfully passed the teacher assistant exam, but despite this, he has not received an appointment. Students accuse the government of nepotism and getting positions through 'back channels' while they continue to work on exam preparation.

The story of Savita, 27, participating in the demonstration, illustrates the difficulties of this movement. Savita said that her father fought for her education, but now she does not know where to go. She notes that years pass, she has worked hard, but the system is letting her down.

Student movement leader Devendra Nath Mahto stated that his appearance reflects his health condition. He could speak only a little, thinking and speaking, as the rest of his body did not support him. He called the government's reaction to the students extremely insensitive. He also expressed a desire to create a system where falsifications and material leaks would be impossible.

Local residents are also supporting the students protesting in Rachi. People are helping them both online and with cash, but the students refuse to accept money. Local traders are also ready to provide any possible assistance. Voices of support are coming from all over the country. In bad weather conditions, the SJP party sent raincoats to the students, and its leader is arriving in Rachi today.
