GIFT Nifty, which serves as an early indicator for Nifty50, showed a trend towards increasing losses. Asian markets traded in a mixed mode.
At the start of trading, GIFT Nifty declined slightly as oil prices stabilized after threats from the US regarding an unlimited naval blockade. Futures for this index were valued at 24,438 points, which is 30 points lower.
Asian-Pacific markets corrected their initial rise and continued to trade in a mixed mode. The market open was higher due to weaker US Producer Price Index (PPI) data boosting expectations of no rate hike in the near future, as well as due to the rise in technology stocks.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index and in South Korea, the Kosi index traded 0.7% and 0.9% higher, respectively. Meanwhile, the Hang Seng index in Hong Kong fell by 0.51%.
Overnight, the S&P 500 index reached a new high and closed 0.65% higher at 7,799.19. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq Composite indices finished the session 0.13% and 0.81% higher, respectively.
Oil prices stabilized on Friday after the US threatened to continue an unlimited naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. In the previous session, Brent futures lost a six-day rally due to concerns over global demand. August futures were quoted at $86.84 per barrel on the International Exchange, down 0.26%.
Gold and silver futures traded down by 1.11% and 1.49%, respectively.

Three public offerings are opening in the SME IPO segment on Friday: Technocrats Plasma Systems, ENS Enterprises, and Skytech Infinite Platform IPO. The Credent Connect IPO will open on the second day of subscription, being a book issue worth 93.90 crore rupees. Behari Lal Engineering and Shiprocket IPO will enter the last day of subscription. Also, the IPOs of Q&T Foods and Pramodini Medicare will open on the last day of subscription.
IPO Listing Today
The 'grey market' premium (GMP) of Technocraft Ventures hinted at a listing gain of 19.81%, while GMP LEAP India indicated a listing gain of 8.18%.
