The anticipated action-thriller from southern superstar Yasha, titled 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups,' is ready for screening in cinemas worldwide. The film, directed by Gittu Mohandas, is scheduled for release on August 26, 2026.
The film recently received an official certificate from the film censorship board. According to this certificate, the movie has been assigned an 'A' rating (for adults), and its total runtime is 194 minutes, which is equivalent to approximately three hours and 14 minutes. This long runtime and 'A' rating indicate that viewers will experience a very dark, intense, and action-packed cinematic experience.
Thanks to the certification report, some important plot details have become known. The film is set in Goa after gaining independence, where an atmosphere of violence, hatred, and envy prevails. Against this backdrop, one gangster goes through a struggle for loyalty, moral compass, and the possibility of redemption. The film deeply explores the stories of characters who fight for their existence and redemption between love and darkness.
In a recently released gripping trailer, viewers saw a completely different and fierce image of Yasha. In the film, Yasha plays a character named Raya—an uncontrollable and eccentric person who is indifferent to the consequences of his actions. In the pursuit of power and dominance, he destroys the hearts of everyone in his path. However, the hatred surrounding him and his own boundless strength ultimately lead to his demise, with his own son, Tikit, becoming his greatest adversary.
Not only Yasha but also a large cast of outstanding actors stars in the film. Among the main female roles are Kiara Advani, Nayantara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Kurashi, and Rukmini Vasant. Additionally, experienced actors such as Akshay Oberoi, Sudev Nair, and Amit Tiwari play important roles.
This large-scale project, originally created in Kannada and English, will be released dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. The film is responsible for stunning visual effects, powerful action sequences, and strong characters. The musical score was prepared by renowned composer Ravi Basurur, and the choreography of the action scenes was done by the team of international choreographers Jajje Peri and Anbariv.
The creators had to make several changes to the release date of 'Toxic.' Initially, the film was planned to appear in theaters on March 19, 2026, but the date was later moved to June 4. Subsequently, to ensure the best reception and suitable window for global screening, the organizers pushed the date again, and the premiere will now take place on August 26, 2026.
After 'Toxic,' Yasha will soon appear in the epic mythological saga 'Ramayana,' directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor will also feature in this mega-budget film alongside him. This two-part project will be released on the big screens in celebration of the Diwali festivals in 2026 and 2027, which has already generated significant buzz.
