SaaS company Amagi reported a net profit of 34 crore rupees for the first quarter of fiscal year 27. This figure significantly exceeds the 4 crore rupees recorded in the same period last year.
The company's revenue for the reporting quarter reached 437 crore rupees, demonstrating a growth of 32.4% compared to the previous year. The company noted that this is the highest quarterly revenue figure to date.
Amagi is a SaaS company headquartered in Bengaluru, specializing in the media and entertainment sector. Amagi's CEO, Baskar Subramanian, stated that the industry is transforming towards companies like theirs. He noted that clients express a desire to consolidate disparate workflows, reduce operational costs, and accelerate new revenue generation. According to him, this represents a $17 billion opportunity that their cloud product for the media industry aims to capture, and he believes that artificial intelligence could potentially double this addressable market over time.
The company's growth is attributed to increased platform usage by existing customers and the ongoing implementation of workflows for streaming, monetization, and cloud-based broadcasting. The company indicated that its ten largest clients accounted for 40.8% of revenue in the first quarter of fiscal year 27, up from 38.8% in fiscal year 26. Furthermore, it was noted that the average tenure of these ten largest clients is 4.8 years, and the company's growth model is increasingly based on expansion within existing accounts as clients adopt more products and migrate more of their operations to the Amagi platform.
The company's financial position includes cash reserves of 1,616 crore rupees, representing a year-on-year increase of 118%, with no debt. The CEO emphasized that the adoption of artificial intelligence has moved from the stage of intention to the stage of practical implementation. For instance, a major news network in the US has selected the company's flagship product, 'Amagi NEWSPULSE'. Currently, the platform is undergoing more than 10 pilot projects globally.
Subramanian added that they are excited about the large future potential and, being at an early stage of this journey, are focused on sustainable growth, increasing operating leverage, and disciplined execution as they scale.
