Green mobility brand Montra Electric, belonging to the Chennai-based Murugappa Group and operating via its subsidiary TI Clean Mobility, announced its international expansion on Thursday. The company began exporting its Super Auto platform to Nepal and Tanzania and successfully secured orders throughout West Africa, targeting rapidly expanding electric vehicle markets.
Deependra Sharma, chief executive officer – e-3Wheeler, Montra Electric, stated that this marks the company's debut in the international arena. He mentioned that they are examining Nepal and several other promising markets across Asia, Africa, and emerging areas, giving preference to regions that possess favorable EV policies, advantageous operating economics, and increasing demand for last-mile mobility solutions.
The company dispatched its initial export shipment to Nepal, in addition to sending consignments to Tanzania. Furthermore, confirmation of orders across West Africa indicates a strong appetite for sustainable transport options within developing economies.

Ltd.), commented that the introduction of the Super Auto into Nepal aligns with the Group's enduring conviction that engineering quality must address genuine, practical requirements, whether for a farmer, a fleet operator, or a nation's energy goals. He noted that their product line is designed to cover the entire travel spectrum, from initial to final-mile mobility.

Nepal presents itself as a prime market due to supportive EV regulations, escalating fuel prices, and easy access to affordable hydropower. Electric three-wheelers are becoming economically feasible for last-mile service providers because they offer lower running expenses and decrease dependency on fossil fuels. In the Nepalese market, the Super Auto will be priced at NPR 864,900.
Designed for challenging terrains, the Super Auto is built to perform reliably over steep and irregular ground. It incorporates high gradeability and Hill Hold Assist, which improves safety and control when ascending slopes. The vehicle is equipped with a 9 kWh battery pack and a PMSM motor, providing a class-leading torque of 60 Nm. It boasts an optimal driving range of 150 km per charge and a maximum speed of 55 kmph. Its 4.5-hour charging time supports intensive daily use, and multiple drive modes allow for adaptation to different loads and road conditions, ensuring smoother power delivery without the abrupt shifts found in traditional geared vehicles.
Additionally, the vehicle features a completely digital instrument panel, comfortable dual-tone seating, and a roomy cabin offering increased legroom and headroom. The design of the windshield and roof contributes to better passenger comfort in diverse operating environments.
