A crocodile appeared in the village of Bijaunar due to rising water levels in the Ganges, attracting the attention of local residents. After people gathered to watch the animal, it became known that one of the villagers picked up the crocodile by its tail.
This incident occurred in the Chandpur area of Bijaunar. Currently, due to rains, the water level in the Ganges is elevated in the hilly and adjacent areas, reaching the coastal territories. The baby crocodile entered the Husainpur Khasa village with this increased water.
When the crocodile appeared near the settlement, the news spread quickly. Local residents began gathering at the scene, experiencing a mix of fear and curiosity. Some started filming the scene. At that moment, a young man approached the crocodile and grabbed it by the tail, then carried it away.
Residents who watched all this made a video recording. The video shows a villager holding the crocodile hatchling by the tail. After the video appeared on social media, users began leaving various comments. Later, the residents returned the crocodile to the Ganges.
Although the crocodile was small, which might have made it easier to catch, such capture of a wild animal can be dangerous. Even a small crocodile is capable of biting and attacking for self-defense. Therefore, if such a aquatic inhabitant appears near a village or settlement, it is not recommended to approach it or try to catch it. It is best to report this to the forest department or local administration.
Following this incident, the residents' concern intensified for another reason. People fear that if the water level in the Ganges continues to rise, other aquatic creatures may move into populated areas. In villages located on the banks of the Ganges, the probability of such incidents increases during the rainy season. In this regard, residents demanded that the administration and the forest department strengthen monitoring along the river.
