One student, Jaanvi Padmanabhan, along with her parents Padmanabhan and Praveena, collected her results. Her parents cried tears of joy upon learning that she achieved a perfect score—three A*s. Praveena noted the stress associated with the uncertainty caused by the prevailing situation but added that her results confirmed her admission to the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Glasgow.
Another student, Pierre Faried, also achieved a perfect result. He arrived at the school with his extended family. His mother cried, and his father hugged him as they opened the results envelope. Pierre shared that he felt nervous during the exams due to a sense of loss of control, but in recent days, he felt calm and expressed gratitude to the school for its competent management of the situation.
The British examination boards Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, and OxfordAQA decided to cancel all IGCSE and A-Level exams in the UAE for the May/June 2026 session. The reason cited was concerns about safety amid the ongoing conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran. Instead of formal testing, students underwent assessment through a Portfolio of Evidence process, utilizing coursework, internal assessments, and other material gathered during their studies.
Brighton Al Ain College demonstrated a one hundred percent pass rate, with 58.4 percent of grades being A* or A, and 90.9 percent being A*-B. Melanie Black, Deputy Head of the entire institution, expressed pride in the achievements of the Sixth Form students, noting that their accomplishments reflect years of hard work, curiosity, and determination.
Dubai British School Emirates Hills reported that 55 percent of A Level participants received A-A grades, and 22 percent received A grades. The school also highlighted outstanding BTEC results, where 76 percent of participants achieved Distinction level. Director Brett Girven emphasized that more than half of A Level participants received A*-A grades, and three quarters of Level 3 BTEC participants achieved the highest possible score, indicating the ambition, resilience, and diligence of the students.
Jebel Ali School showed the strongest results in recent years, registering 54 percent of A Level grades in the A-A range and 22 percent in the A category. The school's BTEC program also achieved a one hundred percent pass rate. Director Simon Juddrell noted the exceptional results of the Jebel Ali School's Year 13 students in A Level and BTEC, which testifies to their dedication, perseverance, and academic aspirations.
