On Wednesday evening, during the KZN derby held at Chatsworth Stadium amid heavy rain, the Lamontville Golden Arrows team managed to draw with Durban City. The goalkeeper of Arrows, Edward Maowa, played a key role in resisting the visitors.
Maowa was at the center of the team's defense when City showed its best period after halftime, repeatedly threatening to score and break the contest. The Namibian goalkeeper made a magnificent save from a long-range free kick after the 60th minute, followed by two more crucial saves during close-range shots. These actions proved decisive, allowing Arrows to withstand the opponent's prolonged pressure.
The match started about fifteen minutes later than scheduled because the water on the pitch required a late inspection. The harsh weather conditions hindered both teams from playing at a free pace. City, which was seeking its first win of the season after a 1-0 defeat to Sekhukhune United early in the campaign, had an advantage in the early stages, but it failed to create clear scoring opportunities.
