Google has launched its new Pixel 11 Series in the Indian market. This series includes a total of four new smartphones: Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. This time, Google's main focus is on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The company has introduced these new devices with AI features that attempt to assist by understanding the user's intent rather than waiting for a command. Before the MadeByGoogle event, the company released a press release announcing the launch and also disclosed the prices.
This new Pixel series is equipped with Google's latest Tensor G6 chipset, which also integrates the new Nano model of Gemini. The company claims that the hardware and AI have been developed together so that daily tasks can be completed on the phone with fewer taps. The starting price for the Pixel 11 in India has been set at ₹89,999, while the Pixel 11 Pro starts from ₹1,19,999. The Pixel 11 Pro XL is priced at ₹1,34,999, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is priced at ₹1,86,999. Pre-orders for these phones have begun, and sales will start from August 20.
Key features of Pixel 11
The Pixel 11 features a 6.3-inch display that supports a refresh rate up to 120 Hz. This phone comes with 12GB of RAM and can be purchased in 256GB and 512GB storage options. It is equipped with a 48-megapixel main camera. According to Google, this new camera has the capability to capture 56 percent more light compared to the previous model. It also offers features like 30x Super Res Zoom and Night Sight.
The phone's battery is claimed to last over 30 hours. It can charge up to 55 percent in about 30 minutes using a 30W or higher charger. The camera bar of the Pixel 11 has also been redesigned, which Google states is more than 40 percent thinner than the previous generation.
Advanced capabilities in Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL
Both the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL feature Super Actua displays of 6.3 inches and 6.8 inches, respectively. Both models offer a refresh rate up to 120 Hz and a peak brightness of up to 3,600 nits. Google has added a new anti-scratch layer to both phones, which is claimed to provide twice the scratch protection of the previous generation.
Regarding the camera setup, both phones are equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 48-megapixel telephoto camera. The telephoto camera provides 5x optical zoom, and the Pro Zoom can be extended up to 120x. Both phones are also estimated to have a battery life of over 30 hours. The Pixel 11 Pro can charge up to 55 percent in about 30 minutes, and the Pro XL can charge up to 75 percent, provided a charger of the correct capacity is used.
The most significant change in the Pixel 11 series is seen in AI rather than the camera. With the new Tensor G6 chip, Gemini is integrated more deeply into the phone experience. A new feature, HiLight, uses the light around the camera flash to display necessary information; for example, specific types of light can appear when a call comes from a favorite contact, and this can work via Gemini without touching the phone.
The Rambler feature improves voice-to-text functionality. It attempts to transcribe what is said clearly by understanding the tone of conversation, even removing filler words like 'um' and 'ah' during speech. The camera includes a new feature called Magic Capture, which automatically identifies and attempts to enhance special moments by reviewing hundreds of frames in real-time during video recording.
Users can now change the look of photos taken with the camera according to their preference, including options like Natural, Shadows, and Vanilla. The goal is to achieve the desired look directly from the camera rather than editing after taking the photo. The Pro model also includes a Creator Suite, which contains camera controls related to teleprompter, storyboard editing, and content creation, showing a special focus on content creators.
Unveiling the Pixel 11 Pro Fold
Google has also introduced the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. According to the company, it is approximately 1 millimeter thinner, about 10 percent lighter, and three times more durable than the previous generation. It features an 8-inch Super Actua Flex Display on both the inner and outer sides. This phone has 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Its battery is claimed to last over 24 hours and can charge up to 50 percent in about 30 minutes. The foldable phone has added several new features for the large screen, such as Split Screen, Drag and Drop, and Instant View.
Additionally, Google has also launched the Pixel Watch 5. The 41mm model starts at ₹42,900, and the 45mm model starts at ₹45,900. It is equipped with the new Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 chip, and the company states that it is 20 percent faster than the previous watch. It includes features such as offline Gemini, improved sleep tracking, and Google Health Guardian. New software features and a new olive color have also been introduced for the Pixel Buds Pro 2.
Google promises to provide seven years of Pixel Drops, operating system, and security updates with the Pixel 11 series, ensuring long-term software support after purchasing the phone.
