In Uzbekistan, there is a provision for families whose housing has been damaged as a result of various emergencies, including fires, floods, and earthquakes, to receive social support. This assistance can amount to 61.8 million soms.
According to information provided by the Social Protection Agency, families registered in the Social Register are eligible for this aid, as well as those whose total monthly income per family member does not exceed twice the minimum consumer expenditure. Currently, the minimum consumer expenditure is set at 715 thousand soms per person per month, meaning each family's income must not exceed 1.43 million soms.
To officially apply for support, it is necessary to document the fact of housing damage. If the cause was a fire, a certificate from the public services center must be provided. In cases where damage was caused by flooding, earthquakes, or other natural disasters, an act prepared by the damage assessment working group is required. The amount of social assistance depends on the degree of housing destruction and can reach 150 basic calculation units, equivalent to 61.8 million soms. It is also noted that support can be provided again if necessary.
There are three ways to provide assistance. Firstly, repair funds can be transferred to the 'Infrastructure and Social Stability' fund according to lists prepared by the khokimiyats. Secondly, restoration work can be carried out by district improvement administrations or the 'Mahalla servis kompaniyasi' company. Thirdly, the family can organize repairs independently, receiving a voucher for purchasing building materials that covers up to 85% of the approved assistance amount.
To begin the support process, the family must contact the 'mahalla seven'. This structure will inspect the housing, collect all necessary documents, and determine the extent of the damage. The final decision on providing assistance is made after a thorough assessment of the house's condition and confirmation of compliance with all established requirements.
