The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan reported the registration of three deaths among patients whose chronic diseases worsened during the period of abnormal heat.
In response to a request from Podrobno.uz correspondent, it became known that between July 15 and 30, 116 people sought medical assistance due to health deterioration caused by high air temperatures. The main problems patients faced were exacerbations of cardiovascular and nervous system diseases.
Additionally, 37 people were diagnosed with heatstroke, and 21 with sunstroke. However, no fatalities were observed in this category of patients; all of them were discharged from intensive care units in satisfactory condition after treatment.
Representatives of the Ministry of Health specified that high temperatures can trigger the development of heart attacks and strokes, as well as lead to cardiac and respiratory failure, and cause complications in the kidneys and endocrine system. Nevertheless, since the primary cause of death is indicated as a specific disease in medical documents, the impact of high temperatures may not be reflected in official statistics.
It was also previously noted that July 2026 was among the hottest months in Uzbekistan's observation history.
