According to a press release from NGMK issued on July 14, 2026, Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company JSC (NGMK) mined 1.5088 million troy ounces of gold in the first half of 2026, with production volume amounting to 86.2 trillion soums.
In the first six months of the year, the company utilized funds amounting to $236.8 million within its investment program and created 1008 new jobs.
As part of the localization program, NGMK produced goods worth 808.7 billion soums and also purchased goods worth about 4.2 trillion soums through inter-industry industrial cooperation.
Muruntau Deposit Development
The development of the Muruntau deposit remains one of the key priorities of the company's investments. Within Phase II of the fifth stage of the open-pit mine development project at Muruntau, more than 96 million cubic meters of overburden were mined between January and July.
Modern mining dump trucks and other heavy equipment were delivered to the Central Mining Administration Motor Transport Department. Construction of conveyor lines for crushing and transportation inside the pit and installation of equipment at the open-pit mine are also ongoing.
Projects at Kokpatas and Daugyztau Deposits
Phase III of the ore mining project at the Kokpatas and Daugyztau gold deposits is currently underway. Work on the construction and installation of the tailings pond continues at Hydrometallurgical Plant No. 3 (GMZ-3). Between January and July, electric excavators with a 10 cubic meter bucket capacity, a motor grader, and front loaders were delivered to the Daugyztau and Vostochny mines.
The project to expand processing capacities at Hydrometallurgical Plant No. 7 (GMZ-7) is being implemented. This year, work on the construction and installation of ore preparation and enrichment sections was completed. Work continues in the compaction and desorption workshops, and electrical supply networks are being built. Plans also include expanding the mechanical repair workshop and chemical reagent warehouse, as well as constructing an administrative building and communication lines.
Modernization of Hydrometallurgical Plant No. 2
Modernization and technical re-equipment are continuing at Hydrometallurgical Plant No. 2 (GMZ-2), aimed at increasing ore processing capacity and enhancing precious metal extraction. After the launch of additional mill blocks No. 34 and No. 35, the total number of operating crushers reached 82.
Significant earthworks are being carried out as part of the project to expand and reconstruct the GMZ-2 tailings pond for the joint storage of waste from GMZ-2 and GMZ-7. Specifically, a new waste storage facility is being built, spoil heaps are being raised to various heights, water intake structures are being constructed, and a 21-kilometer slurry pipeline is being installed.
