There is a possibility of further layoffs at Oracle. According to reports, management has instructed managers to identify a list of employees whose positions may be eliminated before September 1st.
These potential dismissals will occur in addition to the planned reduction of about 21,000 jobs that Oracle plans to implement within the 2026 fiscal year. According to Business Insider, some departments may see staff reductions by double-digit percentages.
It is reported that these layoffs could take place before the start of Oracle's second fiscal quarter. However, the company has not yet made an official confirmation regarding these potential cuts.
By the end of the 2026 fiscal year, Oracle maintained a workforce of approximately 141,000 employees. This figure is 21,000 people, or 13% less than last year, as reflected in the company's annual report. This indicates that Oracle is simultaneously accelerating business development in cloud technologies and artificial intelligence while making operational changes by reducing its staff.
