To grow a jamun plant, you need to take a well-ripened seed from the fruit. You must completely clean the pulp from the seed. If pulp remains, the seed may develop mold, which will hinder its germination.
Instead of planting the seed directly in the soil, it should be soaked in clean water for 6 to 12 hours. This helps soften the outer shell of the seed and increases the probability of quick germination.
Jamun seeds prefer soil where water does not stagnate. To create a mixture, it is recommended to mix regular soil with a small amount of sand and organic fertilizer. Then, the seed should be planted at a depth of about 1–2 centimeters and lightly covered with soil. It is important to keep the soil slightly moist, but avoid overwatering.
After planting, the pot should be placed in a location that receives good light but not intense direct sunlight. In the initial stages for seed germination, soft sunlight and a warm environment are best.
