The Delhi High Court ruled on Tuesday that the Central Government must immediately provide an additional Personal Security Officer (PSO) to the Purani MP, Pappu Yadav, pending a decision from the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding his request for enhanced Y+ level protection.
Yadav filed a writ petition demanding increased security measures amid alleged death threats he received after participating in Parliament protests against the failure of NEET and the misappropriation of donations from the Ram Temple.
He informed the court that he submitted an application to the Ministry of Home Affairs concerning this request on August 5 and is awaiting a response.
The Centre's lawyer stated that while 'adequate security' has already been provided, a decision on his request will be made within three weeks.
