The Income Tax Inspectorate has announced recruitment for vacancies aimed at youth holding a secondary school certificate (10th grade), given the high demand for government service among young people in India.
The Department is seeking candidates for 7 waiter positions in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Applications began on August 11, 2026, and interested and eligible candidates can submit an online application until August 31, 2026.
A feature of this vacancy is the possibility of application by candidates with a lower level of education, as only a 10th-grade certificate is required for these roles. Selected applicants will receive a position under the 7th Pay Commission at pay level 1, which provides a monthly salary ranging from 18,000 to 56,900 rupees.
To qualify for the waiter position, one must possess a 10th-grade certificate issued by an accredited board. The applicant must be an Indian citizen. Furthermore, as of August 31, 2026, the candidate's age must be between 18 and 25 years. Candidates from OBC castes are granted a 3-year relaxation, and for SC-ST castes, a 5-year relaxation. Age relaxation is also provided for persons with disabilities, veterans, and relevant central government employees.
Selection will be based on a written examination and a practical test. After successfully passing the written exam, the candidate must undergo a practical test worth 60 marks. This test assesses practical skills such as preparing and serving drinks and food, as well as maintaining cleanliness. This will be followed by document verification. The probationary period for selected candidates will be two years.
Another aspect of this vacancy is that no fees are charged for applying. The waiter position falls under Group C, non-clerical and non-ministerial. Selected employees will receive a salary of 18,000 to 56,900 rupees under pay level-1. Additionally, they will be provided with inflation allowances, housing benefits, travel expenses, and other benefits offered to central government employees.
