Hyundai is the fourth largest automaker in the Indian market, selling over 50 thousand vehicles monthly. In July, the company sold 54,210 units of its vehicles. The brand's portfolio includes many SUVs, among which Exter is positioned as the most affordable model, according to the company. This model was introduced to the market competing with the Tata Punch.
However, Exter sales were significantly lower than those of the Tata Punch. While monthly sales of the Punch reach around 20 thousand units, Exter sales fluctuate between 6 and 8 thousand units. Analysis showed that 6,810 units of the Hyundai Exter were sold in July. This represents a 34% increase in sales compared to July of last year, whereas 8,154 units were sold in June of last year, indicating a decrease in sales compared to the previous month.
The starting price for this Hyundai model is 5.81 lakh rupees for the exterior, while the top variant costs up to 9.61 lakh rupees including the exterior. The car is available with both petrol and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) options. It is the only vehicle in its segment equipped with a 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine.
The 1.2-liter petrol engine provides 83 horsepower and 113.8 Nm of torque. In the CNG version, this engine delivers 69 horsepower and 95.2 Nm, and it features a two-cylinder CNG setup, which also provides extra boot space.
The car is equipped with 45 safety features, 30 of which are standard. Exter comes standard with 6 airbags. Additionally, features such as hill start assist, electronic stability control, headlight beam assist, child seat fitting, rearview camera, and TPMS are available.
Regarding fuel efficiency, the car consumes 19.4 kilometers per liter with a manual transmission in petrol, and 19.2 km/l with an automatic transmission. When using CNG, the consumption is 27.1 kilometers per kilogram. The model is available in various color options.
