Manav Sardana attracted public attention after purchasing a penthouse worth 271 crore rupees in the DLF 'The Dahliyas' complex, located on the elite Golf Course Road in Gurugram. This deal is considered the most expensive residential property purchase in India to date.
Manav Sardana is a prominent entrepreneur associated with 'Imperial Auto Industries', based in Faridabad. His father, S.B. Sardana, and Jagjit Singh founded this business in 1969 as a small factory. Through fifty years of effort, the family business has transformed into a large and respected enterprise in India's auto component manufacturing sector.
'Imperial Auto Industries', which began operations in 1969 as a small production unit in Faridabad, is now among the country's leading manufacturers of 'liquid transmission products' for automobiles. The company produces critical parts for the automotive sector, such as high-pressure pipes, metal tubes, and rubber hoses. Its in-house capabilities for electro-smelting, soldering, and rubber mixing allow the company to fully control the quality of its products.
Over time, the company expanded and now operates over 20 production sites across India and three major plants abroad. The company was later acquired by the global private equity firm 'Warburg Pincus', but Manav Sardana remains part of its extensive group.
Manav Sardana's new residence sets new price records in Gurugram's ultra-luxury real estate market. This penthouse boasts a super area of 17,200 square feet and a floor area of 10,500 square feet. Consequently, its value is approximately 1.58 lakh rupees per square foot of super area and about 2.6 lakh rupees per square foot of floor area. While prices above 2 lakh rupees per square foot were typically seen in prestigious areas like Worli in Mumbai, this single transaction has placed Gurugram among the most expensive residential real estate markets in the country.
'The Dahliyas' by DLF is currently the company's grandest and most ambitious project, with an estimated total value exceeding 40,000 crore rupees. This complex, spanning 7.5 million square feet, includes 420 luxury homes across 8 towers of 29 stories each, as well as a massive clubhouse covering 350,000 square feet and 15 duplex penthouses. This is not the first major contract in 'The Dahliyas'; previously, four apartments were bought here for 380 crore rupees by an industrialist from Delhi-NCR, and renowned investor Madhusudan Kela acquired an apartment worth 120.7 crore rupees in the same project.
'The Dahliyas' surpassed DLF's previous flagship project in Gurugram, 'The Camellias'. In 'The Camellias', Ajit Jain, Vice President of Berkshire Hathaway, bought a home for 85 crore rupees, and entrepreneur Rishi Parti purchased a penthouse for 190 crore rupees.
