The village of Zarkent in the Parkent district of the Tashkent region will become a major venue for grape enthusiasts, gastronomy, and travel from August 21 to 22. The international festival named 'Uzum Sayli' will take place there.
The main goal of holding the festival is to increase tourist flow, familiarize participants with current methods in viticulture and winemaking, and promote Uzbekistan's ecotourism products on world markets. Additionally, the event aims to attract foreign investors to this industry.
Farmers from different regions of the country, as well as entrepreneurs involved in enotourism and producers of various natural beverages, are expected to arrive in Zarkent. Visitors will have the opportunity to attend agricultural fairs and exhibitions of foreign wine brands.
A separate part of the program will be dedicated to progress in viticulture. International conferences and forums are planned where participants can exchange accumulated experience and discuss future directions for the industry.
The cultural component of the festival, organized by the Committee on Tourism together with the Tashkent region hokimiyat, will include performances by folklore groups and pop artists, as well as events dedicated to national traditions and customs.
It is worth noting that previously, the traditional three-day 'Melon Festival' was held in Khorezm, which attracted over a million visitors from around the world and was recognized in the Guinness Book of Records for the number of melon varieties tasted.
Representatives from Uzbekistan and Malaysia held a meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture to discuss plans for organizing the Malaysia-Uzbekistan International Halal Fest, an international forum and exhibition scheduled for Tashkent in 2027.
The project, presented by a delegation from the Malaysian company TWOJ CREATIVE SDN BHD, aims to strengthen business ties between the countries, develop the entire halal industry ecosystem, and create new investment opportunities.
The festival is planned to include an international exhibition and a business forum. B2B meetings are also provided, along with specialized zones for showcasing halal products, tourism, finance, and manufactured goods, as well as investment presentations.
During the negotiations, the parties focused on several key aspects. Issues regarding the improvement of the halal certification system based on JAKIM standards, as well as ways to bring local producers' products to global markets, were discussed. Furthermore, educational seminars for farmers and entrepreneurs are planned.
A joint roadmap will be created to ensure a high level of festival organization, which will require the participation of ministries, various agencies, higher education institutions, and representatives of the business community.
