Four athletes from Uzbekistan became medalists at the World Junior Championship under 17, which is taking place in the capital of Azerbaijan. Following the results of the last competitive day, the Uzbekistan team added two silver and two bronze awards to its count.
Silver medals were won by Jakhongir Tulkunov in the up to 55 kg class and Shokhiddin Aliyev in the up to 65 kg category. Bronze medals were awarded to Farrukh Mahmudov in the up to 48 kg weight and Bekhruz Ashirov in the up to 110 kg category.
On the final day of the tournament, three more representatives of the Uzbekistan team will continue to fight for bronze medals. In the up to 45 kg weight class, Muhammad Rakhimjonov will compete against the winner of the bout between Abdunazar Batyrkanov from Kyrgyzstan and Lasha Dotiashvili from Georgia. In the up to 60 kg category, Bekzodbek Ibrohimov will fight the best in the match between Witold Pawlik from Poland and Mikita Kuzmenko from Ukraine.
Additionally, in the up to 71 kg weight, Jaloliddin Jalolov will meet the winner of the bout between Kemrin Howard from the USA and Adilet Rysbay from Kazakhstan.
