Samsung announced on Monday the introduction of its new line of Mini LED televisions to the Brazilian market. The prices for these models range from R$ 3,199 to R$ 24,999, covering two main models: the M75H, available in sizes of 50, 55, 65, 75, and 85 inches, and the M90H, which comes in 100 inches.
This Mini LED line, identified by the letter M, represents a new offering from Samsung scheduled for 2026. Previously, this technology was exclusive to the Neo QLED family models, marked with the letter QN. The new launch aims to provide a more accessible alternative for those seeking screens with this advanced technology.
Previously, Samsung's portfolio included the Crystal (entry-level), QLED (mid-range), and Neo QLED (premium) lines. With the inclusion of Mini LED, the company expands its mid-range options, presenting different technological combinations.
To understand the technology, it is important to know that a screen is composed of several layers with specific functions, such as light emission, color control, and image display. Mini LED refers to the backlighting technology that uses light-emitting diodes on a minuscule scale. According to Samsung itself, these diodes are up to 40 times smaller than traditional LEDs, allowing for more precise control over lighting areas, which results in greater contrast accuracy and less light leakage.
The QLED technology incorporates an additional layer of quantum dots (QD), formed by semiconductor nanocrystals. These crystals are capable of generating colors with higher precision, providing a wider color gamut and a superior brightness level. While the Crystal and QLED families use conventional LED backlighting, QLED adds quantum dots; on the other hand, both Mini LED and Neo QLED employ miniature LED backlighting, with Neo QLED also having quantum dots.
In terms of market positioning, Mini LED is expected to be positioned in a price range similar to QLED. Since Samsung has not yet launched its 2026 QLED line in Brazil, the 2025 line is used as a reference, whose initial values started at R$ 2,899 (43-inch QEF1 model), a slightly lower value than the 50-inch M75H (R$ 3,199).
The two Mini LED models presented bring features already known from the South Korean manufacturer. They operate with the Tizen operating system and promise seven years of updates. The Vision AI Companion platform integrates with the Bixby and Gemini artificial intelligence assistants.
In terms of image quality, both the M75H and M90H have a dedicated processor to optimize and analyze content through Artificial Intelligence. Furthermore, the devices support upscaling to improve low-resolution content, allowing it to be displayed in 4K quality. Regarding content, Samsung Mini LED TVs are compatible with Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia Geforce Now, as well as other cloud gaming platforms, enabling gameplay without the need for a console. The refresh rate can reach 120 Hz at 2K resolution.
Additionally, the devices include the Samsung TV Plus platform, which offers hundreds of free channels via the internet, and the Stingray Music karaoke app, which allows the cell phone to be used as a microphone. Finally, the televisions feature SmartThings connectivity, facilitating the control of smart appliances, such as air conditioners, sockets, and lamps.
