The event was attended by the Japanese Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Kenji Hirata, the Director of the JICA office in Uzbekistan, Kan Sakai, President of Nagoya University of Technology Shigeharu Kamado, Vice President for International Strategy Yukio Miyashita, as well as representatives of TSTU led by Rector and Academician Sadriddin Turabjanov.
In the conference hall of the Uzbek-Japanese Center for Youth Innovations at TSTU, participants discussed the current state and future prospects of partnership between the two universities. Special attention was paid to the exchange of faculty and students, joint curricula, scientific research, international grant projects, and the development of innovative activities.
Following the conference, the official opening ceremony of the Nagoya University of Technology representative office in Uzbekistan took place. The symbolic ribbon was cut by Kenji Hirata, Kan Sakai, Shigeharu Kamado, Sadriddin Turabjanov, and Saidmurod Niyozbekov. In accordance with Japanese tradition, the ceremony also included painting the eye of a Daruma doll.
Guests visited the Japan Career Academy operating at TSTU and met with students. Yukio Miyashita, Vice President for International Strategy of Nagoya University of Technology, and Shavkat Azimov, Vice-Rector of TSTU for International Relations and Innovation, gave presentations on mobility in education, joint research, and promising areas of cooperation.
The opening of this representative office is expected to further strengthen ties between TSTU and Nagoya University of Technology, facilitate the implementation of joint educational and research projects, expand academic mobility, and reinforce cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan.
The Consul General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk, Aslam Akбаров, met with the leaders of Alfit, a company specializing in phytoproducts, in the capital of the Altai Krai region of Russia.
The parties reached an agreement to open a company representative office in Tashkent, followed by localizing production on the territory of Uzbekistan. According to the information agency Dunyo, Alfit produces over 350 types of products, including herbal mixtures in capsules, plant extracts, specialized cosmetics, and confectionery, including sugar-free options.
During the meeting, possibilities for promoting the company's phytotherapeutic products in the Uzbek market were discussed, with a special focus on products from the Altai Krai of Russia. Alfit management expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan.
The first step will be the prompt opening of the Alfit representative office in Tashkent. After this, the parties intend to create a joint venture. The next stage of cooperation is planned to be the localization of Alfit's production in the Chirchik Special Economic Zone.
Alfit management noted that one of the most important areas for further interaction is the creation and development of production facilities in Uzbekistan. Additionally, the Uzbek side invited a representative of Alfit Plus to participate in a business mission of the Altai Krai, which plans to visit Uzbekistan in September 2026.
