Mahindra Group has announced the appointment of Amit Singh, who is currently the Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Lifespaces Developers Ltd's real estate and infrastructure division (MLDL), to the position of CEO of the Holidays and Lifespaces sector.
The date of Singh's assumption of the new role has not yet been announced. This move aligns with the group's strategic direction for developing the Holidays and Lifespaces sectors, aimed at accelerating growth and achieving operational synergy between various business units designated as 'Growth Gems.'
Singh will take up his new role after the appointment of a new CEO in Mahindra Lifespaces. The group specified that the leadership and reporting structure for the respective enterprises will be adjusted as part of the implementation of the new sector structure.
Anish Shah, Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra Group, highlighted the immense potential of both businesses: 'As we move to the next stage of growth, we have assessed how to leverage the synergy between them to further strengthen the growth trajectory.'
Over the past five years, the group has noted significant progress across all its verticals, with its 'Growth Gems' being a key driver of this growth. It was noted that several of these enterprises have exceeded expected growth by five times during this period and are well-positioned for further development. The group's real estate business, Mahindra Lifespaces, has become one such outstanding 'Growth Gem.'
Specifically, since FY20, residential property sales in this business have increased fivefold, rising from approximately 700 crore rupees to 3,500 crore rupees. The industrial segment has also shown strong results. Overall, the business transitioned from losses to a profit of around 300 crore rupees by FY26.
During the same period, the group's hospitality business, Mahindra Holidays, achieved substantial progress. With over three hundred thousand members in its vacation ownership program, this business is a leader in the segment and has added more than 1,700 rooms. The company is also expanding beyond vacation ownership into the leisure hospitality industry, aiming to become a leading player in India's hospitality sector.
