According to a statement from the Ministry of Sport press service, the FC OLYMPIC PHYGITAL team from Uzbekistan won the bronze medal in phygital football at the 'Future Games - 2026' tournament, which took place in Ostonad. This tournament ran from July 29 to August 9.
In the quarterfinals, the Uzbek team defeated the FFK ROTOR CISS GROUP team from Russia with a score of 2:1. In the semi-final, the match against the NS Team from Argentina ended in a 1:1 draw, but in the penalty shootout, the Uzbeks managed to overcome their opponents with a score of 2:3.
In the bronze medal match, the team beat Club Holcattes from Guatemala with a score of 1:0. The winning goal was scored during the physical phase of the match. For third place, the team received an award of 50 thousand dollars.
Uzbekistan also participated in other disciplines. Sugdiona Abdukholikova (Sagdi) reached the quarterfinals in the phygital dance discipline. As for phygital shooter, the MIRAGE TEAM from Uzbekistan participated but could not advance past the group stage.
Overall, more than 800 people participated in these twelve-day competitions across eight different disciplines. The total prize fund amounted to 4.65 million dollars. Champions were determined in eight disciplines, among which the NS Team from Argentina won phygital football, and Wilders from Armenia won phygital basketball.
Today, the 'Oral' football team from Nukus has been leading in the Pro League matches. To support the team, a modern bus was ceremonially presented as a presidential gift.
At the ceremony, Amanbay Orinbaev, Chairman of the Higher Council of the Karakalpakstan Republic, spoke and emphasized that the team is always supported.
Subsequently, the 'Oral' football team, which is maintaining the lead with 26 points in the 11th round central match of the Uzbekistan Pro League, took the field against another leading team, 'Shurtan', and won the game 3:1 at the end.
