Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, known as IRCTC, has introduced an international religious travel package. This offer includes a six-day trip to Sri Lanka focused on the Ramayana for Indian tourists.
The itinerary covers visits to popular locations such as Colombo, Nuwara Eliya, and Kandy, along with numerous famous sites related to the Ramayana. IRCTC has provided detailed information regarding the package cost and the services available to travelers.
According to IRCTC, the six-day Ramayana tour of Sri Lanka departs from Bangalore on September 24, 2026. The starting price for this package is 59,950 rupees per person for a group of three. For single booking, the cost can reach 81,100 rupees. The package accommodates 15 people and includes air travel, hotel accommodation, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
It is important to note that the railway company specified that the total cost of the Sri Lanka tour package will depend on the room category. Furthermore, an additional child fee applies to children under two years old, which must be paid at the IRCTC office during booking. The package price also includes 2% GST (TCS). The package documents contain a call to action: 'Hurry... Places are limited!'
The first day of the trip begins with a flight from Bangalore to Colombo. Upon arrival, the group travels to Dambulla, visiting the Manwa and Muniswaram temples along the way.
The second day includes excursions to the Dambulla Cave Temple, Tirukoneswaram Temple, and Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Temple, as well as visits to Sigiriya and Trincomalee.
On the third day, the tour group travels from Dambulla to Kandy, where they plan to visit the Tooth Relic Shrine and a gemstone factory. A cultural event will take place in Kandy in the evening.
The fourth day involves a trip from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, during which tourists will see the Sri Bakta Hanuman Temple, Ramboda, Sita Amman Temple, and Ashoka Vatika.
The fifth day includes travel from Nuwara Eliya to Colombo. The day's program features a stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, followed by a visit to the Kelaniya Buddhist Temple and Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple, after which there will be a city tour of Colombo.
The sixth and final day is allocated for free time for shopping in Colombo. Subsequently, all passengers are transferred to the airport for the return flight to Bangalore.
The IRCTC Sri Lanka Ramayana Tour package includes economy class flights on SriLankan Airlines. The departure is scheduled for September 24th at 10:00 AM from Bangalore to Colombo on flight UL-1174, and the return flight UL-173 departs from Colombo on September 30th at 00:35 AM, arriving in Bangalore at 02:00 AM.
The package includes five nights of hotel stay, economy class airfare, meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), transportation in air-conditioned vehicles, sightseeing, entrance tickets, a tour guide, overseas travel insurance, as well as GST and 2% TCS.
Tourists should note that expenses for food onboard, visiting additional attractions, camera fees, boat trips, tips, phone calls, porter services, laundry, mineral water, and other personal needs must be borne independently.
Additionally, travelers must carry their original passport, which must be valid for more than six months from the date of return to India. It is advised to arrive at the airport three hours before departure.
