Significant changes may occur in the Delhi Capitals (DC) team ahead of the IPL 2027 season. In recent seasons, the team has shown success at auctions by acquiring many major players for relatively low prices.
Examples of such acquisitions include Kelarahula, David Miller, Ashutosh Sharma, and Samir Rijivi. It is particularly noted that DC's biggest success at the mega auction was purchasing Kelarahula for only 14 crore rupees.
Despite these acquisitions, the observed improvements in the team's performance remain limited, and Delhi Capitals is still awaiting its first IPL trophy. Previously, the team only reached the final once in the 2020 season.
However, the team is now ready to make several important decisions. During training sessions held at Just Cricket Academy in Bangalore, Sourav Ganguly and Yuvraj Singh were seen training together. Both veterans closely observed the young players alongside Amit Mishra. Yuvraj Singh gave valuable advice to the young batsmen from the stands, while Ganguly monitored the process throughout the session.
This scene sparked discussions about a major overhaul of the coaching staff in the team. According to available information, after the management transitions to JSW Group, a serious reshuffle in the Delhi coaching collective is anticipated. It is speculated that Ganguly might take on the role of head coach or director of cricket, and Yuvraj Singh is likely to receive the duties of batting coach. If this happens, it would mark Yuvraj's first official coaching experience in the IPL.
Previously, Yuvraj Singh helped develop the careers of young players such as Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma. Furthermore, a special relationship has developed between Rishabh Pant, who plans to return to Delhi Capitals, and Yuvraj Singh. Pant often sought Yuvraj's advice during difficult moments. Thus, Pant's presence combined with the involvement of Yuvraj and Ganguly on the bench could completely change the team's atmosphere.
