A high-ranking BCCI official stated that the board cannot make a decision about this tour independently. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) insists on holding this series at all costs and sent an official letter to the BCCI. Both cricket federations maintain constant contact with each other. BCB prepared a special window for this white-ball match (ODI and T20) from August 29 to September 15. Nevertheless, the ball is now entirely in the jurisdiction of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The safety of the athletes is the highest priority for the Indian Cricket Council. This is why the board does not wish to take any steps without official government permission. Only after consulting with the government will it become clear whether the Indian player will fly to Dhaka, or if the tour will be postponed indefinitely.
