Woman Who Learned to Drive to Support Her Family Now Teaches Other Women for Free

Seventeen-year-old Pranav Ilango, a resident of Tamil Nadu, has achieved a remarkable feat that serves as a source of inspiration for the youth. At such a young age, while other students focus on higher education or sports, Pranav's hard work has brought him to the United States. He has been awarded a scholarship worth Rs 3.55 crore to study at Brown University. Through this scholarship, he will study Public Health and Applied Mathematics, which covers four years of study and living expenses.

The journey to gain admission to this university is deeper than just academic achievements; it is the result of many years of intensive preparation and hard work. Pranav aims to find solutions to problems affecting the lives of ordinary citizens, especially the underprivileged, by integrating technology, mathematics, and public health.

Pranav's dream started in Erode and eventually reached Brown University. His story shows that any big dream can start from anywhere, but true success lies in bringing positive change to the lives of others.

Studying at CS Academy in Erode, Pranav had dreamed of studying abroad since childhood. At the age of just 13, he participated in a program by Dexterity Global, where he received training in leadership and problem-solving alongside education.

To realize this dream, he excelled in his studies. Pranav secured a top global rank in IGCSE Mathematics and established his place among the best students of Cambridge. For Pranav, mathematics is not just a subject; he wants to use it to understand and find solutions to complex problems.

Pranav has a deep interest in software, technology, engineering, and data. He wants to understand how people's lives can be improved with the help of technology and data. His future goal is to establish a company related to public health that assists governments and underserved areas in providing accurate, data-driven information. He has also attempted to use AI, programming, and data science in the fields of education and health.

This is why he chose Public Health and Applied Mathematics at Brown University. He firmly believes that major health challenges can be understood and effective solutions derived with the help of mathematics and technology.

Brown University, founded in 1764, is one of the prestigious Ivy League universities in the United States. Here, students get the opportunity to learn by interlinking various fields along with mathematics, science, and other subjects. However, for Pranav, reaching Brown University is just a beginning; he wants to further advance his studies in mathematics, technology, and public health here. In the future, he intends to use these skills to develop practical solutions for India's problems.

Although the booking for hall SSS-1 was cancelled, the event to discuss Umar Khalid's book 'Fractured Communities,' which was scheduled for August 10th, will still take place. This discussion was originally planned from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

According to a notification issued by the university, the administration decided to cancel the booking because the request form for room rental did not provide complete information about the planned event.

JNUSU viewed the cancellation of the auditorium booking as an anti-democratic step. The student union asserts that open discussions on books and social issues are an integral part of academic freedom and democratic debate. Although the university administration cited the lack of complete program information as the reason for cancellation, JNUSU rejected this argument, noting that the Dean of the School of Social Sciences had instructed the organizers to make the booking in that manner.

The student union also accused the administration of double standards. JNUSU stated that some other campus events receive support, while discussions concerning issues such as indigenous peoples' rights, water, forests, and land are blocked. In support of Umar Khalid, JNUSU emphasized that they have always advocated for issues related to constitutional rights and civil liberties, and raised questions regarding Khalid's prolonged imprisonment.

Following the cancellation of the booking, JNUSU decided to hold the discussion outside the SSS-II building. The student union called on students, faculty, and staff to participate in the event.

The planned event was supposed to be part of the JNUSU Indigenous Peoples' Day celebration. Among the proposed speakers were Professor Prabhu Mahapatra, Professor Uma Chakravarty, and Harsh Mandar. Hall SSS-1 was initially booked for this event, but the university cancelled the reservation before the program even began. The university insists that complete information about the event was not provided in the hall booking form. The cancellation letter was issued by the joint registrar and approved by the Dean of SSS.

Amid ongoing student demonstrations in Ranchi related to the JPSC-JSSC exams, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren made an important statement. Speaking at the event, he stated that the youth are being misled and emphasized that any problem can be resolved through dialogue.

Hemant Soren noted: 'I am not old; I understand your problems and will ensure you justice.' He also added that while they recognize the need for border firing, it is not required here.
