The total market value of four of the ten most expensive companies increased by 1.43 trillion rupees last week, with State Bank of India emerging as the biggest winner.
Last week, the BSE Sensex index rose by 404.53 points, which is 0.51 percent, and the NSE Nifty index grew by 187.05 points, or 0.76 percent.
Ajit Mishra SVP, Research, Religare Broking Ltd, noted that the markets ended the week with moderate growth despite increased volatility. This is due to investors analyzing the implementation of the new Closing Auction Structure (CAS) for F&O stocks, the Reserve Bank of India's monetary policy decision, and persistent geopolitical uncertainty.
Among the growth leaders from the list of the ten most expensive companies were Reliance Industries, State Bank of India, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Larsen & Toubro. Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), and Hindustan Unilever collectively lost 1.23 trillion rupees in value.
State Bank of India added 63,922.03 crores, bringing its market capitalization to 10,11,721.84 crores. It is worth noting that Reliance Industries' market capitalization increased by 32,816.4 crores, reaching 18,01,925.19 crores, and TCS demonstrated a growth of 31,875.35 crores, reaching 8,87,770.13 crores.
Larsen & Toubro's market capitalization rose by 14,637.76 crores, amounting to 5,56,482.45 crores. However, LIC's value decreased by 40,543.23 crores, falling to 4,96,891.82 crores.
Bajaj Finance lost 37,168.96 crores, and its market capitalization stood at 6,73,648.55 crores. HDFC Bank declined by 24,183.16 crores, reaching 11,27,967.47 crores. ICICI Bank showed a decrease of 9,507.67 crores, amounting to 10,20,370.63 crores, while Bharti Airtel lost 7,581.65 crores, totaling 12,22,423.98 crores.
Hindustan Unilever's market capitalization decreased by 4,793.16 crores, standing at 4,88,808.97 crores. Reliance Industries remained the most expensive company, followed by Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, TCS, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, LIC, and Hindustan Unilever.
