The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted approval for the first drug capable of alleviating all manifestations of narcolepsy type 1. This was announced in an official press release from the pharmaceutical company Takeda.

This drug is named ovexorexone (Orzeyful). It possesses the properties of a highly selective orexin OX2 receptor agonist and is intended for oral administration because it can cross the blood-brain barrier.

Since the cause of narcolepsy type 1 is a deficiency of orexin, this drug is classified as pathogenetic therapy. It is approved for use in the adult patient population.

In some parts of the country, including Delhi, there is an increase in cases of swine flu. Doctors note that the number of such illnesses is rising during this period. Swine flu is also known as Influenza A(H1N1). Specialists have explained in detail the reasons for the increase in morbidity, risk groups, and protection methods.

According to doctors, swine flu has become an infection that activates during the monsoon season. The increase in cases is linked to the prolonged monsoon period, temperature fluctuations, and higher viral activity. Nevertheless, people should not panic; most patients attending outpatient departments (OPD) have mild symptoms and recover with proper care, so isolation is only necessary to prevent spread.

Dr. Neha Rastogi Panda from the Department of Infectious Diseases at Fortis Hospital in Gurugram reported that this season features a persistent cough and high fever, which may be due to pneumonia caused by poor air quality (AQI). In 20–30% of cases, especially among young children, the elderly, pregnant women, immunocompromised individuals, and those suffering from chronic lung, heart disease, diabetes, or kidney failure, breathing problems can occur, increasing the risk of contracting swine flu.

According to WHO estimates, approximately one billion people worldwide are infected with seasonal flu annually, of which 3 to 5 million cases are severe, highlighting the importance of preventive measures.

Dr. Harjit Singh Bhatti from the Department of Medicine at the Indian Institute of Science and Research in Sitaraama explains that symptoms of swine flu infection can include sudden fever, cough, sore throat, headache, severe body aches, nasal issues, and fatigue. In most cases, rest and treatment are required, with the antiviral drug 'Oseltamivir' being prescribed especially within the first 72 hours.

Dr. Harjit states that immediate medical intervention is necessary if shortness of breath, decreased oxygen levels, persistent or worsening fever, chest discomfort, excessive drowsiness, or deterioration of general condition is observed.

To prevent swine flu, it is crucial to get vaccinated upon a doctor's recommendation, maintain hand hygiene when eating, and avoid contact with infected individuals.

A 55-year-old man sought treatment at a Chinese surgical clinic complaining of a painless mass under his right ear that had been growing over two years. According to his medical history, the patient had a smoking history of 10 pack-years.

Initial examination revealed a well-defined solid mass under the right ear, as well as a smaller mass in the lower part of the left parotid gland, which the patient was unaware of. No signs of facial nerve involvement or cervical lymphadenopathy were detected.

Axial T2-weighted MRI of the neck showed a mass in the right parotid gland characterized by hyperintense areas corresponding to cystic content, as well as nodules on the outer cyst. Additionally, a solid mass was recorded in the left parotid gland.
