Mexico is beginning the implementation of a large-scale project to develop energy infrastructure worth $43 billion. The goal of this initiative is to increase electricity generation and attract a larger volume of private investment.
According to the plan, the majority of the new generating capacity should come from clean energy sources. However, industry specialists warn that the transition may face several difficulties, including investment barriers and an outdated power transmission system in the country.
