US Imposes 15% Tariff on Polysilicon Imports

The 7-seater segment in the Indian automotive market is highly popular, including models with MPV and SUV body styles. However, among family car enthusiasts, MPVs are preferred. In this segment, one model has maintained a dominant position for many years without facing serious competition.

This refers to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which holds approximately half of the MPV market. There are also other vehicles based on this model that are sold in rebranded and modified versions. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is the best-selling 7-seater MPV.

According to July data, the company sold 21,606 units of this vehicle. In July of last year, 16,604 units were sold, demonstrating a year-on-year growth of 30.1%. This vehicle holds a 46% share of the segment.

Toyota Innova Hycross and Crysta are in second place; data for these two vehicles is combined. In July 2026, 9,976 units were sold. Innova sales remain stable, as 9,119 units were sold in July of last year. This vehicle holds a 21.3% share of the segment.

Kia Carens and Kia Clavis take third place, selling 5,352 units in July. Meanwhile, sales of the Kia Carens in July this year decreased by 29.6% compared to last year, but the vehicle's market share is 11.4%.

The Maruti Suzuki XL6 sold 3,791 units in July, holding an 8.1% market share. This vehicle is a premium version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and is supplied through Nexa dealerships. Toyota Rumion is in fifth place, with 2,632 units sold, compared to only 576 units sold last year.

Notably, the Rumion is also a rebranded version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. This vehicle holds a 5.6% share of the segment. Thus, the Ertiga's market share exceeds half of the market.

In July 2026, 1,762 units of Renault Triber, 1,386 units of Nissan Gravita, 262 units of Maruti Suzuki Invictus, 91 units of Kia Carnival, and 72 units of Toyota Vellfire were also sold.

A new promotion called Freedom Sale has started on the e-commerce platform Flipkart. This sale offers discounts on a wide range of products, including iPhones, smartphones, mobile accessories, party speakers, and home appliances, with maximum discounts up to 70 percent.

During the Flipkart Freedom Sale, customers can take advantage of bank offers. SBI bank cards offer instant cashback of up to 10 percent, and benefits are also available for transactions via EMI.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max smartphone is also available at a lower price during the promotion. This gadget was initially launched at a starting price of 149,999 rupees, but is now offered at a price of 141,999 rupees during the sale. With the use of a bank offer, an additional saving of 8,000 rupees can be obtained, resulting in a total saving of up to 16,000 rupees.

Within the Flipkart Freedom Sale, smartphones from various brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi, and Redmi can be purchased at discounted prices. Combining these with bank offers can lead to substantial discounts.

Furthermore, significant discounts are offered on home appliances. Refrigerators, air conditioners (AC), washing machines, and food processors can be purchased at lower prices. Electric water heaters can also be found at favorable prices during the sale.
