Researchers from the UK and Bulgaria announced the successful completion of the first phase of clinical trials for a new vaccine designed to prevent diphtheria and tetanus. It is noted that this drug can be stored without the use of refrigeration equipment.
During the trials, it was established that the vaccine is well tolerated by the participants' bodies and does not cause serious side effects. Furthermore, its immunogenicity is comparable to existing vaccines, for which maintaining the cold chain during storage and transportation is critically important.
The results of the studies conducted were officially published in the scientific journal eClinicalMedicine.
