Delegation of Ministers Arrives in Ranchi to Negotiate with Students Regarding JPSC and JSSC Exams

The recent unscheduled meeting between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Raghav Chadha and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has caused a wide resonance in political circles. The former AAP leader shared photos of this meeting on the social network 'X', calling it a 'memorable morning'. This meeting, which took place several months before the Punjab Legislative Assembly elections, has generated many speculations.

On Friday, the Prime Minister also met with Sukhbir Singh Badal, the head of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). Raghav Chadha, who previously left AAP earlier this year along with six other MPs and joined the BJP, did not disclose details of the conversation but described it as a 'useful dialogue'.

Chadha stated: 'I had the honor of meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was an extensive and informative conversation. I am sincerely grateful to him for his valuable time, as well as for the knowledge and guidance received.'

This meeting occurs during a period of increased political activity by the BJP in Punjab ahead of the upcoming legislative assembly elections next year. Chadha is a senator and represents Punjab in the Senate. His family ties are linked to Jalandhar, which raises hopes that he may receive an important position in the elections.

Chadha was initially associated with AAP, but a significant turn occurred in April when he and six other MPs switched to the BJP. The departure of Raghav Chadha, once considered the 'real chief minister' of Punjab, was a serious blow to AAP, as it is the only state where AAP currently governs.

After joining the BJP, it is expected that Chadha will receive a significant role. He possesses a good understanding of Punjab's electoral politics, and his urban reputation could help the BJP strengthen its position in cities like Amritsar, Ludhiana, and Jalandhar. This is especially true after distancing himself from SAD, where the BJP faced difficulties in increasing support among business circles and middle-class voters in Punjab, an area where Chadha could be beneficial.

It is worth noting that prior to Chadha's meeting with the Prime Minister on Friday, Modi had met with Sukhbir Singh Badal. This leads to speculation that the BJP might consider restoring relations with its former allies.

Akali Dal appears interested in contacts with the BJP following the rise in AAP's popularity. SAD has significantly weakened, shrinking to three assemblies and one MP. In the rapidly changing political landscape of Punjab, whether Chadha will be able to change the fate of the BJP remains to be seen.

Student protests in Ranchi concerning various issues related to the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) are intensifying. Students who have been picketing for 13 days held a unique protest action on Thursday evening at the Jayaprakash Singh Stadium in Ranchi.

On Thursday evening, students marched across the stadium grounds and adjacent areas, using mobile phone flashlights. This demonstration filled the entire area with shouts and expressions of indignation. The protesters clearly conveyed to the government that their action was completely peaceful. Nevertheless, despite continuous protests for 13 days, the government has not provided any concrete solutions to their demands.

The students categorically stated that their movement will not cease until the government provides a written and satisfactory response to their requests.

Currently, there is uncertainty regarding planned high-level meetings between the students and the Jharkhand government. Although student representatives submitted the names of their members to the administration for negotiations, an official meeting between both sides did not take place by Thursday evening.

Sources report that if positive changes arise at the administrative level at the last moment, negotiations may take place overnight. Otherwise, it is highly likely that official talks between the government and student representatives will occur on Friday. The students remain firm on their demands, increasing pressure on the administration to find a solution quickly.
