On August 6, 2026, the brand published a message stating: 'Now delivering everywhere, presumably.' In the caption, the company made a cautious reference to its signature humor, adding: 'Our legal department advised us not to confirm absolutely anything. Except for free delivery until 11 AM tomorrow.'
However, the joke gained particular resonance after a video appeared online showing Deputy Head of EMPD Julius Mkhwanazi exiting a police van after an arrest, holding a Nando's bag. Mkhwanazi had been arrested for the fourth time this year, which made the phrasing 'presumably' legally justifiable.
It seems Nando's perfectly understands how close one can come to the line of acceptability while keeping lawyers calm, and allowed the comments section to do the main promotional work.
