A meeting was held at the Ministry of Economy and Finance with a delegation led by Takashi Nagaoka, Director of the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) Regional Office for the Asia-Pacific region. As part of the implementation of these agreements, the movement of the first direct block train 'Slavyansky Karavan' has begun. The freight consist, consisting of 71 covered wagons, transports products from the processing industry in the forestry sector, sugar, food products, compound feed, and other types of goods. Initially, trips are planned twice a month, with the possibility of increasing the number of trips depending on cargo flow volumes being considered.
According to representatives, this route will not only increase the volume of freight transport between the two countries but also allow for the effective use of international transport corridors, reducing delivery times and lowering logistical costs. This, in turn, will create more favorable conditions for exporters and importers, increasing the competitiveness of foreign trade operations.
Furthermore, the new railway line will strengthen transport links between Central Asian and Eastern European countries, expand the geography of international freight transport, and enhance the capabilities for effectively utilizing the potential of regional logistics centers.
