The Minister of Sport and Youth Policy of Iran, Ahmad Donyamali, and the Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, Farid Gayibov, held talks, emphasizing the need to develop joint initiatives and strengthen sports ties between the neighboring states.
During the meeting, Donyamali noted the great potential for cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan. He highlighted sports diplomacy, activation of contacts between national federations, holding joint training camps and competitions, exchange of coaches and athletes, as well as joint work in the fields of education and talent development as key areas for future partnership.
Gayibov welcomed the improvement of sports relations with Iran and stated Azerbaijan's readiness to expand cooperation in various sectors related to sports and youth programs.
Both sides emphasized that closer interaction can open up new opportunities for athletes, coaches, and sports structures in both countries, while simultaneously contributing to the strengthening of regional sports ties. This agreement is another step towards expanding sports cooperation and deepening ties between Iran and Azerbaijan.
Another meeting of the interdepartmental coordination working group of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and Russia took place in Moscow. The parties discussed possibilities for further expanding practical interaction in the field of law enforcement activities. This was reported by the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Delegations led by the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, Major General Botir Kudratkhojayev, and the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Police Colonel Andrey Khrapov, took part in the meeting.
The main focus of the negotiations was on joint work to combat crime, ensure public safety, counter transnational crime, and improve the professional training of law enforcement officers.
Participants emphasized the importance of deepening information exchange between the two ministries and coordinating operational measures using modern information technologies.
At the end of the meeting, it was noted that the dialogue, which took place in an open and constructive atmosphere, will contribute to the development of interdepartmental cooperation and strengthen mutual trust and understanding.
After the meeting, the Uzbek delegation visited the main departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow and St. Petersburg, where many citizens of Uzbekistan reside. During these visits, the parties exchanged views on the protection of citizens' rights and freedoms, crime prevention, and reviewed the activities of relevant Russian internal affairs units.
Representatives from the Bukhara region of Uzbekistan and the capital of Belarus, Minsk, signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of sports. According to the press service of the Minsk city executive committee, the document was signed in Minsk on July 29.
This memorandum provides for joint work in the field of training specialists and athletes, the organization of joint training camps, as well as the participation of representatives of both sides in sports competitions.
Maxim Voropay, head of the main sports department of the Minsk city executive committee, noted that Uzbek athletes have historically demonstrated high results in martial arts. Furthermore, the parties intend to develop partnerships in football, swimming, and athletics. The cooperation will cover the training of both young and elite athletes.
According to Voropay, the signing of the memorandum is intended to promote increased mass participation in sports and expand interaction between Minsk and the Bukhara region.
Alisher Shaykhov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, met with the new Ambassador of Argentina to Uzbekistan, Enrique Ignacio Ferrer Vieira.
The parties discussed areas for developing trade and economic relations, as well as deepening investment interaction and expanding contacts between the business communities of both countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, Shaykhov congratulated the diplomat on his appointment and wished him success in efforts to strengthen ties between Uzbekistan and Argentina. The participants identified promising areas for joint work, including agriculture, food and textile industries, footwear production, pharmaceuticals, as well as electrical engineering and chemical industry.
Potential areas of cooperation also covered the jewelry industry, tourism, medicine, and education. Both sides stated their readiness to continue practical interaction in the specified sectors, activate business contacts, and facilitate the implementation of joint projects.
