The football club Esteghlal is in negotiations regarding the return of Spanish goalkeeper Antonio Adan, who is approaching a possible return to the Tehran 'giants' club.
Adan, who was the starting goalkeeper for Esteghlal last season, is reportedly planning to extend his contract with the Iranian club as the 'Blues' aim to strengthen their squad before the start of the new season.
Since Esteghlal's transfer window is closed due to ongoing registration restrictions, the coaching staff has instructed the club management to take the necessary steps to bring Adan back to Iran. The experienced goalkeeper is considered an important option to ensure stability and leadership in defense, especially during a period when the club faces limitations in signing new players.
However, finalizing the deal will require Esteghlal to settle its financial obligations to the Spanish goalkeeper. According to reports, the club still owes Adan about $200,000 from the previous contract, and this debt must be repaid before a new agreement is reached.
The 38-year-old goalkeeper has extensive experience playing European football, having played for clubs such as Real Madrid, Real Betis, and Atlético Madrid throughout his career.
