Issues regarding ensuring reliable consumer rights protection, timely consideration of citizens' appeals, and improving system efficiency remain among the priority tasks today. As a result of work conducted in the Syrdarya region, 376 out of 390 appeals received in the second quarter of 2026 were resolved positively, which accounts for 96 percent. This was reported at the regular meeting of the regional association of the Federation of Consumer Rights Protection Societies in the Syrdarya region.
The meeting included a comprehensive analysis of the implementation of the Federal Council's decision from July 17, 2026, the activities of district and city societies in the second quarter, as well as the execution of the Law 'On Consumer Rights Protection' and other regulatory legal acts. Furthermore, the work on increasing the efficiency of handling appeals, legal education, public control, and expanding the membership base was discussed in a critical and analytical manner.
It was emphasized that the regional association of the Federation in the Syrdarya region operates 11 district (city) societies with 24 employees. Additionally, 19,870 Federation members and 66 support groups operate in enterprises, organizations, and educational institutions.
During the reporting period, appeals were reviewed through the established procedures via the President's virtual reception office, trusted phone lines of the Main Prosecutor's Office, the Federation's 24/7 hotline at 1091, the istemol.uz virtual reception office, and through the PotrebitelUz Telegram bot. The majority of appeals concerned issues of trade quality and service provision, utility services, contractual relations, and restoration of violated consumer rights.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to shortcomings identified in the activities of some district and city societies. It was noted that the work on interacting with appeals, strengthening legal education, effectively organizing monitoring events, increasing the number of Federation members, and ensuring executive discipline are not at the same level across all regions. In this regard, leaders were tasked with developing 'Roadmaps' with clear deadlines, increasing performance on each indicator, and eliminating deficiencies as soon as possible.
Zhonibek Yariev, head of the regional association of the Federation of Consumer Rights Protection Societies in the Syrdarya region, stressed at the meeting that the reporting meetings are not only a review of completed work but also an important platform for critically analyzing the functioning of the system and determining future priority tasks.
He stated: 'Our goal is not numbers, but people's interests. Behind every appeal is a citizen's right, their trust, and hope for justice. Therefore, the timely and lawful resolution of appeals, strengthening legal education, expanding public control, and increasing consumers' legal literacy is our main task. This, in turn, strengthens consumer trust in our system, as well as in us,' said Zhonibek Yariev.
Following the meeting, priority tasks were defined aimed at further improving the system of handling appeals, strengthening public control, increasing the efficiency of consumer rights protection, activating work with partner organizations, and increasing the number of Federation members.
