The Casa CN project is a residential house designed for a retiring family. It is situated on a long and narrow plot of land in Khao Yai, extending from the public road to the foot of the mountain. The house is surrounded by natural landscapes and offers panoramic views of the mountains, conceived as a place for long-term living with a close connection to nature.
The project concept began with a rethinking of the traditional organization of the house. Instead of placing common areas on the ground floor and bedrooms upstairs, all bedrooms were placed on the lower level. This was done to ensure easy access, support long-term habitability, and reduce dependence on stairs.
Conversely, the living room, dining area, guest areas, and main pool were raised to the upper floor. This allowed residents to fully interact with the surrounding landscape and distant mountain views. The spatial arrangement was designed considering both the climate and daily lifestyles.
Since the house faces north and prevailing winds blow from the south, the ground floor was designed as a large open space for air circulation. A semi-open lounge area is located in the center, flanked by bedroom wings on both sides. This allows air to pass through the building and naturally accelerate in the central space beneath the house.
On the upper floor, the main social areas are aligned along the east-west axis to maximize the use of southern breezes. This configuration ensures effective cross-ventilation in all leisure and dining areas, including the pool terrace and outdoor spaces. Large openings and continuous terraces further enhance the connection between interior spaces and the surrounding nature.
Natural materials play a key role in defining the architectural character of the house. Stone walls, wooden cladding, wooden ceilings, and wooden plank roofs were chosen to establish a visual link with the mountain landscape. On the lower level, large stone walls define individual functions, ensure privacy, and anchor the building in the landscape, while their soft gray tones complement the surrounding vegetation.
The interior follows the same design idea, emphasizing simplicity, natural light, and ventilation. On the upper floor, the leisure and dining areas are finished with light wood that highlights the natural grain of the material, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere distinct from the heavier stone elements in other parts of the house. On the lower level, semi-open spaces, lounge areas, and surrounding gardens seamlessly transition from outside to inside, allowing nature to become an integral part of daily life.
The Plinth House is a 3,000 m² single-family residence located on the coast of Abu Alhusaniya, in Kuwait, and was completed in 2025. The project was developed by the firm Cambra Buró, which was responsible for the architectural, interior, and landscaping designs of the building.
The concept of the house is based on the interaction between containment and expression elements. The structure includes a travertine-sculpted foundation that anchors the building to the ground, upon which rests an upper volume characterized by a minimalist and serene design, creating an intentional contrast with the robust base.
The project team provided a detailed description of the The Orb House / Chiasmus Partners development. This project is located in Hyangrindongsan, in the Dongbaek-dong area of Yongin.
The site constitutes an established residential enclave, characterized by the distribution of single-family homes extending across vegetated slopes. The buildings were designed respecting the natural topography of the land.
In the design, elements such as retaining walls, trees, and level variations are integrated, generating multiple layers of visual connection. This arrangement guides the observer from private garden spaces to the more distant landscape.
Situated on a hillside, the land offers a natural framing of the view, encompassing both the neighboring village and the surrounding forest.
