Kitchen ceiling fans often accumulate a layer of grease, smoke, and spice vapors during cooking, making them dirty and sticky. Washing with plain water or a cloth is insufficient for this greasy film, causing the fan to look dull. If you are facing the problem of cleaning a sticky kitchen fan, there is a simple and effective homemade method that can restore its original shine.
How to clean a kitchen ceiling fan:
To begin dealing with dry dust and dirt, it is recommended to use an old pillowcase. Put this case over the fan blade and gently pull it outwards; this way, all the dust will remain inside the case and will not fall onto the floor.
Next, you need to prepare a special cleaning solution. In a bucket with warm water, mix half a cup of white vinegar, two tablespoons of dish soap, and two tablespoons of baking soda. This mixture is considered the most effective agent for removing stubborn grease.
After preparing the solution, soak a sponge or piece of cloth in it and wring it out well. Then, after removing the fan, clean it with this solution, or, using a ladder, wet a cloth in the solution and proceed with cleaning. Thanks to the presence of vinegar and baking soda, the sticky grime should come off easily in just a few minutes.
For thorough cleaning of hard-to-reach areas, such as the motor and corners of the structure, an old toothbrush should be used. Finish the process by wiping the fan with a clean, dry cloth so that it dries completely. After this, the kitchen ceiling fan will look like new.
