GIFT Nifty signaled a possible negative opening for the Nifty50 index. Most Asian markets showed declines. This occurred against the backdrop of stabilizing oil prices, which are linked to contradictions in statements and actions by the US and Iran regarding a peace agreement.
GIFT Nifty futures traded at 24,650 points, indicating a drop of 90 points. Asian markets followed the lead of their Wall Street counterparts. Japan's Nikkei 225 and South Korea's Kospi fell by 1.26% and 1.73%, respectively.
Overnight, the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average closed lower by 0.18% and 0.85%, respectively. The Nasdaq Composite also showed a slight decrease of 0.06%.
Oil prices rose as the Iranian Parliament considers a bill aimed at banning US and Israeli access to the Strait of Hormuz. This heightened concerns about an imminent cessation of military actions. Furthermore, the chief Iranian negotiator accused the US of conducting 'theatrical politics.'
August futures traded at $83.24 on the Intercontinental Exchange, showing a rise of 0.91%. Gold and silver futures increased by 0.42% and 1.36%, respectively.
