Over the past three years, the family of mafia boss and former deputy Atik Ahmed has been under threat of constant death. Initially, after the murder of Umesh Pala, his son Asad Ahmed died during police operations. Just two days later, Atik Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were shot dead during a police detention. Recently, another of Atik's sons, Aban, died in a traffic accident.
According to available data, Aban was involved in an accident on his way to prison to visit his brother Ali Ahmed. Following this series of tragic events, the question has arisen again about who of Atik's family members remains alive.
The murder of Umesh Pala and two of his bodyguards took place in Prayagraj. Charges for this murder were brought against Atik Ahmed and his group. Consequently, the Uttar Pradesh police and the STF launched a large-scale operation against the accused. These actions shook Atik's entire criminal network and led to several significant events in the following months.
Just three days after the murder of Umesh Pala, the Prayagraj police surrounded the suspect Arbaz near Nehru Park. The police claimed that he opened fire on command, and as a result of the shootout, he was killed. According to investigative agencies, he was the one driving the Crete machine used in the murder of Umesh Pala. After this arrest, the police intensified the search for other suspects. Arbaz was very close to Atik's family.
Another accused in the Umesh Pala murder case, Vijay Chaudhary, also known as Usman, was killed in a police shootout on March 6, 2023. The police stated that he was the first to shoot at Umesh Pala. He was also wanted with a bounty. After this operation, the police focus shifted directly to Atik Ahmed's family and his close associates.
Approximately 50 days after the murder of Umesh Pala, Asad Ahmed, Atik's third son, and his accomplice Ghulam were surrounded by the Uttar Pradesh STF in Chhansi. According to police information, both opened fire on command, after which they were killed in return fire. A reward of five lakh rupees was announced for Asad, who was considered the main accused in the Umesh Pala murder case. An foreign pistol, cartridges, and a motorcycle were found at the scene.
During this operation, a close associate of Asad, Ghulam, was also killed by the STF. According to the police version, he was also a main accused in the Umesh Pala murder case and had been hiding for a long time. A reward of five lakh rupees was also announced for him. The arrest and killing of Asad and Ghulam attracted national public attention.
Two days after Asad's elimination, on April 15, 2023, the most sensational event occurred in Prayagraj. The police were taking Atik Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed to Colvin Hospital for a medical examination. Both were handcuffed, and they were being filmed by media cameras. At that moment, three attackers, who infiltrated the crowd disguised as journalists, opened heavy fire on them at close range. Within seconds, Atik and Ashraf died on the spot. The entire scene was captured by cameras and became the top news story across the country.
Immediately after the murder of Atik and Ashraf, the police arrested all three attackers. They were identified as Lavlash Tiwari, Arun Maurya, and Sani Singh. The investigation revealed that all three had previously been involved in criminal cases. The Uttar Pradesh government also established a judicial commission to investigate this high-profile murder.
The chain of deaths in Atik Ahmed's family did not stop. Now, his son Aban has died in a car accident. It is reported that during the accident, he was heading to prison to visit his brother Ali Ahmed. In 2023, Aban and his brother Ehjam were minors. After the actions against Atik and Shaysta, they were placed in a children's protection home. Later, in October 2023, they were released and started living with relatives.
Atik Ahmed's wife, Shaysta Parvin, is still considered wanted in the Umesh Pala murder case and has been on the run for a long time. Atik's eldest son, Umar Ahmed, is under judicial arrest in Lakhnau jail, while Ali Ahmed is incarcerated in the Nainee central prison. The third son, Asad Ahmed, died in a shootout in April 2023. The fourth son, Aban, recently passed away in a traffic accident. As for the youngest son, Ehjam, it is known that after being released from the children's home in October 2023, he lives with his aunt.
The Fading Atik Ahmed Family
Looking at the events of the last three years, it is clear that Atik Ahmed's family has gone through a series of severe upheavals. The death of a son during police operations, followed by the murder of Atik himself and his brother during a police detention, and now the death of son Aban in an accident, have almost completely destroyed this family. Currently, some family members are in prison, one member is on the run, and legal proceedings continue in other cases.
