Bank auctions property of Rajpal Yadav, who owes a debt of 16.61 crore rupees

Maharashtra Chief Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray leveled accusations on Saturday regarding the embezzlement of donations at the Siddhivinayak temple located in Mumbai. He stated that an amount of 18 crore rupees is stolen annually.

Furthermore, Raj Thackeray claimed that 1,400 crore rupees were stolen from the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as Education Minister due to the leak of NEET examination materials and public protests, Pralad Joshi was appointed as the new Education Minister. Pralad Joshi, born on November 27, 1962, in Karnataka, first entered the Lok Sabha by winning the Dharwad constituency election in 2004 and has since consistently won elections.

Financial Status and Assets

According to the declaration submitted to the Election Commission during the 2024 elections, the total net worth of Pralad Joshi and his family exceeds 21.09 crore rupees. He declared liquid assets amounting to 8.97 crore rupees. Of this amount, 2.72 crore rupees belong to Pralad Joshi himself, 5.93 crore rupees to his wife Jyoti Joshi, and over 32 lakh rupees to his daughter Ananya V Joshi.

These assets include cash, bank deposits, fixed deposits, mutual fund investments, stocks, insurance policies, PPF, as well as gold and silver jewelry. In addition to declaring assets worth billions of rupees, he also has liabilities exceeding 8 crore rupees.

Investments and Bank Accounts

An analysis of the declaration presented to the Election Commission shows that at the time of the 2024 elections, Pralad Joshi and his wife had more than 92 lakh rupees in their bank accounts. Furthermore, they jointly invested over 1.62 crore rupees in stocks and mutual funds. Among the stocks in their portfolio were shares of Inno Nu Chem Pvt Ltd, Miraculam Motors Private Limited, and Able Design Eng. Service Pvt ltd. They also invested significant amounts in SBI Mutual Fund, SBI Blue Chip Fund, and Midcap Fund.

Additionally, their PPF account held 10 lakh rupees, and there was an LIC policy worth 21 lakh rupees. Regarding precious metals, according to the declaration, Pralad Joshi owned a gold chain-ring weighing 180 grams and 5 kg of silver, while his wife possessed gold jewelry weighing 500 grams and 2 kg of silver. The daughter also had gold jewelry weighing 250 grams. Notably, despite having vast wealth, neither he nor his wife has registered any car or other vehicle.

Real Estate and Land Holdings

As for real estate, the total value of his family's assets is estimated to be over 12 crore rupees. These assets include luxury homes in Hubli and Bangalore, agricultural land in Dharwad, and non-agricultural land in Karnataka.

According to the election declaration, more than 86.39 lakh rupees of agricultural land are registered in the name of Pralad Joshi's wife in Dharwad. Moreover, non-agricultural property worth over 5.25 crore rupees is registered in Pralad Joshi's name in Keshavapura (Hubli) and Bangalore. Although his wife does not have registered houses, Pralad Joshi owns apartments and houses in Meyuri Estate (Hubli) and Malleshwaram (Bangalore), the total value of which exceeds 5.99 crore rupees.
