Champat Rai, the former General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Foundation, has intensified his public outreach campaign among religious figures following his resignation. This marks the first instance where Champat Rai directly visited sadhu saints in Ayodhya after the donation case surfaced and extensive changes were made to the Foundation. During these visits, he requested media representatives to leave the premises and attempted to cover the camera with his hands.
Currently, Champat Rai is meeting with sadhu saints at the main temples and akhadas of Ramnagari. He presents them with prasad and shares information regarding the administrative and legal actions taken in connection with the donation incident at Ram Mandir.
According to sources, Champat Rai met with Mahanta Dindenndra Das, who is the mahanta of Nirmohi Akhada and a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Foundation board. Following this meeting, active discussions about the events began within religious and social circles. He subsequently also met with Mahant Suresh Das and Ramlakhan Das from Digambar Akhada. It is believed that former officials associated with the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Foundation are contacting sadhu saints to present their perspective on the entire situation and address emerging questions and misconceptions.
After the Digambar Akhada, Champat Rai proceeded to Tapasvi Chauni to meet Jagdguru Parmakhandacharya. He was greeted with devotional songs. During this visit, Champat Rai asked a media correspondent to turn off the camera. After a private conversation, Jagdguru Parmakhandacharya informed the media that Champat Rai had requested not to leave Ayodhya, as it was under his leadership that the magnificent Ram Mandir was built. He agreed to this, stating that he would only leave Ayodhya to participate in scheduled events.
Following the SIT investigation into the embezzlement of donations at Ram Mandir, the filing of an FIR, and the arrest of eight accused, the Foundation initiated massive changes to its administrative structure. After the dispute arose, the then General Secretary Champat Rai and board member Dr. Anil Mishra voluntarily stepped down from their posts on moral grounds. Now, residing in Chaturmas in Ayodhya, Champat Rai continuously updates the sadhu saints on the steps being taken in this matter. His campaign to connect with sadhu saints is considered crucial for future developments related to the Ram Mandir case.
