According to the Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR) 2026 study, Google ranked first among the most attractive employers in India. In this ranking, Tata Group is in second place, and Amazon is in third.
To conduct this survey, Randstad India polled approximately 3,500 people across the country. This research is part of a larger global survey that covered 34 countries worldwide and involved over 175,000 participants.
The report also revealed that modern employees pay attention not only to high salaries but also to many other factors, including career development, corporate culture, work-life balance, health, and compensation.
The study showed that employees in India continue to consider changing jobs. Approximately half of the workers may look for a new position within the next six months. The most frequent reason for leaving was cited as a lack of work-life balance, mentioned by 49% of respondents. This was followed by limited career growth opportunities (42%) and low salary (41%).
Among millennials, the desire to change jobs was the most pronounced, with 43% citing the lack of career prospects as the main reason. Similarly, 42% of Generation Z and 39% of Generation X also pointed to insufficient career development opportunities as a reason for switching jobs.
According to the report, today's workers seek an employer that provides them not only with decent pay but also with a favorable working environment and opportunities for advancement. Employees expect companies to provide them with conditions such as career growth, a respectful atmosphere, healthcare, work flexibility, and good salary. People are placing more importance on how a company treats its employees, rather than just the benefits it offers.
The survey also found that for job stability, opportunities for promotion and recognition for high performance are as important as high salary and benefits (47%). Furthermore, transparent and honest communication from the company is considered vital for strengthening employee trust, as 46% of respondents noted that open dialogue increases their confidence in the company.
The report further indicates that the expectations of employees in the digital sector differ somewhat from those of other employee categories. Digital specialists place greater weight on high salaries and are more likely to consider changing jobs if they are not provided with career growth opportunities. In the study, 55% of digital employees cited lack of career growth as the main reason for changing jobs, compared to 40% among operational employees and 43% among other professional workers.
The report also notes that the hybrid work model is becoming increasingly common in India. About 42% of employees reported working in a hybrid format, meaning some time in the office and some from home. Younger employees prefer remote work. 63% of Generation Z and 62% of millennials stated they want to work from home at least sometimes, while this percentage among Generation X was 51%. Narayan Iyer, Managing Director of Randstad India, stated that companies need to adapt their strategy to meet changing employee needs by offering career growth, flexibility, a better atmosphere, and good conditions.
