Participants also examined the potential of applying advanced Italian experience in architecture and engineering, adapted to the conditions of Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, prospects for expanding direct cooperation between relevant organizations, research institutes, and business representatives of both countries were studied, including holding joint seminars and implementing practical projects.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to maintain working contacts in priority areas, jointly develop new initiatives, and implement them through practical projects.

At the beginning of the meeting, Shaykhov congratulated the diplomat on his appointment and wished him success in efforts to strengthen ties between Uzbekistan and Argentina. The participants identified promising areas for joint work, including agriculture, food and textile industries, footwear production, pharmaceuticals, as well as electrical engineering and chemical industry.
Potential areas of cooperation also covered the jewelry industry, tourism, medicine, and education. Both sides stated their readiness to continue practical interaction in the specified sectors, activate business contacts, and facilitate the implementation of joint projects.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, received the credentials of the Portuguese Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Sara Martins.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the further development of Uzbek-Portuguese ties, as well as the need to activate political dialogue and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
Saidov emphasized the significance of the visit of the Uzbek side to Lisbon in April 2026 for deepening bilateral relations, strengthening political dialogue, and defining new directions for joint work. Special attention was paid to the consistent implementation of agreements reached during this visit, strengthening economic diplomacy, and developing interregional ties.
